Storage Levels
North East Water operates twenty nine separate water supply systems throughout the North East. Water supply's are drawn from a wide range of sources including groundwater, reservoirs and directly from rivers and streams.
Ten towns in the North East draw their water from reservoirs. The Reservoirs provide additional security of supply to these towns during the dryer periods when the flows in the local streams can be unreliable.
