Supporting the SWEP program
Schools Water Efficiency Program (SWEP) is a free Victorian Government initiative that monitors school water use and alerts schools when there is a leak.
This voluntary program provides schools with a water data logger, allowing them to continuously track their water usage via an interactive website. By monitoring their consumption, schools can quickly detect and fix leaks, leading to significant water and cost savings.
At the end of 2025, total lifetime savings for the 61 active member schools in North East Water's region was 368 million litres of water at an estimated avoided cost of $850,000.
Schools can access the program via the SWEP website here.
