If you have purchased a business, the landowner remains responsible for any water and sewer charges.
At the request of an owner or managing agent, we can add the commercial lessee (where the property is separately metered) as an Authorised Contact so they can receive the bill with their name included and contact us if they wish to discuss the invoices issued during their occupancy. Please email us at info@newater.com.au if you wish to add your lessee as an Authorised Contact.
Do you need a trade waste agreement? As a commercial tenant, you may need a trade waste agreement if your business discharges liquid waste. To find out more visit our Trade Waste page.
If you are buying or selling a property in our region, your solicitor will send us a copy of the updated Certificate of Title once settlement is complete. We will update our system upon receipt of this notification and send a confirmation letter to the purchaser. Please check with your solicitor before making any payments to your account leading up to settlement. Any arrears are usually accounted for at settlement.
If a tenant is registered in the property, they will be responsible for usage charges. Any service charges will be the responsibility of the landowner.
Additional considerations: • Do you need to vacate from a rental property? You will need to complete our Tenant Vacating form. • Do you have a concession card? Update your details with Centrelink then contact us to register your Concession. • Do we have your correct contact information? If you don’t receive your Change of Ownership confirmation within a month of settlement, please contact us to ensure we have the correct contact information. • Do you need to cancel any existing BPAY payments in your banking portal? Please check your bank accounts to ensure you don’t have any recurring payments set up for the property you are moving out of.
