Position Information

Salary
  • An attractive salary range of $90,574 to $100,709 plus 12% superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
  • This role is eligible for our industry and wastewater allowances which add over $2,600 to your remuneration per year!
  • In this role you will participate in an on-call availability roster for 7 days approximately every 4-7 weeks. This includes an on-call allowance of over $500 (per week of on-call) plus any applicable overtime hours and rates.
Hours per week
  • Full-time, ongoing including a monthly RDO and flexible work options (such as a 9-day fortnight). 
  • General hours of work are between 7am and 4:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Location
  • Based in Wodonga with the requirement to live within the area to support after hours and emergency response.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Candidates must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a foreign national with authorisation to work in Australia
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence

The Team Leader Reticulation Wodonga ensures efficient and reliable functioning of the water reticulation systems to deliver safe drinking water, emphasising pro-active maintenance, hygienic practices, and rapid response to emergencies, while staying within budgetary guidelines.

In this role you will supervise and support a team of 7 operators including 1 senior operator, to achieve daily operational targets and uphold safety standards to ensure efficient operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee and ensure consistent monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation of water and wastewater reticulation systems. Address potential risks and implement preventive measures.
  • Emergency Response: Lead the coordination for timely responses to reticulation disruptions or emergencies, ensuring minimised impact and quick recovery, in accordance with hygienic principles and environmental practices.
  • Project Management: Implement water and wastewater reticulation projects.
  • Team Management: Supervise the team's daily tasks, ensuring efficient operations. Oversee and participate in a 7-day rotating on-call roster.
  • Safety & Training: Uphold and enforce strict safety standards. Ensure team members are well-trained and in alignment with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
  • Stakeholder & Customer Liaison: Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, ensuring that customer feedback and concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources including equipment, tools, and materials required for reticulation operations.
  • Asset & Infrastructure Management: Responsible for the operation and fault response to our water and wastewater reticulation assets including sewer pumpstations.

Key Selection Criteria

To be in consideration for this position please address in your application how you meet the following key selection criteria:

  1. Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or Water Reticulation or equivalent, or substantial experience in the water industry and demonstrated progress towards achieving these qualifications.
  2. Demonstrated experience in a supervisory position leading, mentoring and/or managing a team.
  3. Sound knowledge and understanding of water and wastewater reticulation systems with industry experience.
  4. Demonstrated competency with the use of a range of software including Microsoft suite.
  5. Current driver licence (required) and a current medium rigid driver’s licence is desirable but not required (willingness to obtain is essential).
