Water main burst leads to discoloured water in Benalla
8 September 2026 | 3pm
Our team has commenced a flushing program across parts of Benalla following the repair of a major water main burst on Thomas Street earlier today.
The burst caused sediment within the water network to become disturbed, resulting in discoloured or cloudy water for some customers.
Flushing activities are expected to take several hours to complete, after which water quality and supply conditions should return to normal.
If you are experiencing discoloured or cloudy water, please run the tap at the front of your property for a few minutes until the water runs clear.
If your water quality does not improve after five minutes, please contact us on 1300 361 644 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
We apologise for the inconvenience and thank affected customers for their patience while we work to restore normal conditions as quickly as possible.
