Treated recycled water released into Black Dog Creek

North East Water is discharging treated recycled water from its Chiltern Wastewater Treatment Plant in Black Dog Creek.
Holding lagoons and discharge infrastructure at the plant have reached full capacity following recent heavy rain.
The release ensures that holding facilities do not overflow and is likely to continue for several weeks.
Water being discharged has been fully treated and monitoring will continue throughout the process.
North East Water is working with stakeholders including Environment Protection Agency Victoria, North East Catchment Management Authority, Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, Goulburn Murray Water and Indigo Shire Council.
