Treated recycled water released at Wodonga

24 July 2023

Treated recycled water from the Wodonga Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) will be routinely released into nearby waterways commencing Monday, 24 July.

The effected waterways include to the Murray River via Felltimber Creek, Wodonga.

The holding lagoons have reached their full capacity following the recent and ongoing wet weather.

The releases are needed to ensure our dams do not overflow. The releases are likely to continue for several weeks.

There are no impacts to drinking water treatment processes. The water being discharged has been fully treated and our monitoring program will take place throughout the discharge process.

We are working with our stakeholders during this process, including EPA Victoria, North East Catchment Management Authority, DEECA, Goulburn Murray Water, City of Wodonga.
