Sewage spill in Baranduda

North East Water has cleaned up a minor sewage spill in Baranduda that occurred on Thursday 23 April 2026.
The spill originated from sewer infrastructure at the corner of Roycroft Street and Glenwood Boulevard and entered a nearby stormwater drain.
Remediation works at the site have been completed, and warning signage has been installed advising people to avoid contact with the area for several days.
Sampling of the stormwater system has been undertaken to assess any potential impacts on the waterway.
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has been notified.
