Sewage spill in Bandiana

North East Water has cleaned up a minor sewage spill in Bandiana that occurred on Friday 22 May 2026.
The spill originated from a sewer access point on Bandicoot Lane and entered a nearby stormwater drain.
Remediation works at the site have been completed, and warning signage has been installed advising people to avoid contact with the area for several days.
Sampling of the stormwater system has been undertaken to assess any potential impacts.
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has been notified.
