Sewage spill at Emily Close, Tangambalanga

North East Water crews are managing a wastewater spill that occurred in Tangambalanga on Wednesday, 13 September.
The spill occurred due to a blockage in the main from behind Emily Close and spilled at 1 Emily Close, as well as entering a nearby waterway. The spill has now ceased and repairs to remove the blockage and clean the site have been completed.
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has been notified. Clean up of the property is being coordinated with the owner. Water sampling of the stormwater has been undertaken to understand the impact of the waterway.
