Treated recycled water released at Corryong

Treated recycled water from the North East Wastewater Treatment Plant in Corryong will be routinely released into Cemetery Creek commencing on 1 September 2023.
Holding lagoons at the plant have reached their full capacity following persistent rainfall over the past 12 months.
The release is needed to ensure that our dams do not overflow and is likely to continue for several weeks.
The water being discharged has been fully treated and our monitoring programs will take place throughout the discharge process.
We are workign with our stakeholders during this process including EPA Victoria, North East Catchment Management Authority, Department of Land, Water & Planning, Goulburn Murray Water and Towong Shire.
