Wangaratta mural
In conjunction with the Rural City of Wangaratta, North East Water is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified artists (or an artists collective) to develop artworks on the Parfitt Road building of North East Water’s water treatment plant in Wangaratta. These artworks will be highly visible and have a high impact in Wangaratta and will contribute to the Rural City of Wangaratta’s Public Art Collection.
Parfitt Road is a commonly used thoroughfare, and this project has the potential to become an important long-term feature of the City’s public art collection.
This project aims to reimagine the wall with a large scale, high impact site-specific public art treatment to the exterior surface. The work will change the way people perceive the place and create a pleasant and interesting place for people to linger.
The theme for the Parfitt Road project is open, though we encourage concepts that reference:
- Our First Nations stories and history
- The inherent function of the site – that of ensuring safe, reliable drinking water for the community, or
- The natural landscape of the area, wildlife and waterways.
