Bundalong raw water repairs
28 September 2023
North East Water is aware of Bundalong community concerns about
impacts to the supply of raw water pumped directly from Lake Mulwala to some local
properties. There has been no impact to North East Water’s drinking water
service.
We acknowledge that recent issues with the pump’s operation
are interrupting this raw water supply, and that the community’s aware that this
service is not guaranteed.
The pump has temporarily been repaired and we are in the
process of sourcing a replacement pump in order to improve the service as
summer approaches. We appreciate the community’s patience while we work to rectify
the issues. We will keep the community informed about replacing the pump.
Residents should also be aware that the raw water supply may
need to be shut off when required, particularly if an algal bloom occurs or
there are low water levels in Lake Mulwala. Properties will still have access
to North East Water’s fully treated drinking water service during these times.
