Due to a growing Capital Delivery Program & internal succession, we have two new and exciting opportunities to lead the delivery & construction of our infrastructure!

Position Information

Salary
  • An attractive total remuneration package (TRP) is available from $145k to $155k (inclusive of superannuation), depending on skills and experience
Hours per week
  • 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Full time, ongoing.
      
Location
  • Primarily based in Regional Headquarters in Wodonga.
  • Field based work is occassionally required to visit project sites.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Candidates must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a foreign national with authorisation to work in Australia

North East Water provides water and sewage services to an estimated population of 120,000 people in 39 towns in north-east Victoria across an area of 20,000 square kilometres. We operate 21 water treatment facilities and 22 wastewater treatment plants that service most towns across the region. Over 200 full time equivalent staff are employed at our centres surrounding Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla, Yarrawonga, Corryong, Mount Beauty and Myrtleford. North East Water is currently embarking on a large capital program and seeking to grow and maintain our services to the community.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of high complexity projects and programs through all aspects of the Project Management Framework. This involves systematic and documented planning, design, implementation, commissioning, verification, and start-up activities.

You will be part of one of our Capital Delivery teams, which are responsible for delivering a large program of capital works including major treatment plant upgrades, supply mains, and sewer pump stations.

 

We currently have 2 new and exciting positions available:

  • Senior Project Manager – Capital Delivery (East)

Focusing on the areas surrounding Wodonga, Corryong, Dartmouth and Rutherglen.

  • Senior Project Manager – Capital Delivery (West)

Focusing on the areas surrounding Beechworth, Mount Beauty, Benalla, Wangaratta and Yarrawonga.

This is an exciting opportunity to get out and about in the beautiful north east region.

 

These roles are full-time opportunities, including a monthly RDO and flexible work options.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of projects and programs within the capital program through all aspects of the Project Management Framework.
  • Lead and contribute to North East Water’s capital investment decisions for infrastructure including asset planning, reliability and optimisation.
  • Ensure investment decisions consider and address climate change, growth, resilience, adaptation and ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Provide delivery support and advice to the Corporation to support informed decision making on urban water and wastewater needs.
  • Contribute to the development of North East Water’s technical specification and engineering standards.

Key Selection Criteria 

To be in consideration for this position please address in your application how you meet the following key selection criteria:

  1. Demonstrated understanding of delivering large multidisciplinary design and construction projects.
  2. Ability to manage competing demands and requests, set priorities and plan and organise work to ensure projects, programs and services are delivered within agreed standards, budgets and timeframes.
  3. Effective communication skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to gain cooperation, support and assistance in resolving challenges and achieving objectives.
  4. Understanding and experience in administering design and construction contracts.
  5. A tertiary engineering qualification recognised by Engineers Australia in a discipline relevant to the role or tertiary qualification related to project or industry management with relevant industry experience in delivering multiple capital projects.
