At North East Water we are currently expanding our largest wastewater treatment plant with the addition of anaerobic digestors to create renewable energy that can be used ‘behind the meter’ and meet our 100% renewable energy vision. This role will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience working with this exciting new technology!
This role is part of our Mechanical Wastewater Treatment team that currently manages three mechanical wastewater treatment plants based in Bellbridge, Mount Beauty and West Wodonga. This provides the opportunity to expand your knowledge of wastewater treatment while enjoying the opportunity to work in one of Victoria’s most beautiful regions.

This role is a full-time opportunity, including a monthly RDO and flexible work options. The general hours of work are between 7am and 4:30pm and once deemed competent, you will be required to participate in a seven-day on call roster every 4 weeks which operates from a Tuesday until the following Tuesday.
In this role you will:
- Execute mechanical wastewater treatment tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Maintain a strong record of safety and compliance in all mechanical wastewater treatment operations.
- Collaborate and be part of a flexible, multi-skilled mechanical wastewater treatment team.

Key Selection Criteria
To be in consideration for this position please address in your application how you meet the following key selection criteria:
- Ability to problem solve, prioritise and complete tasks within set timeframes under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge and experience in wastewater treatment / the water industry or experience in a position with a transferrable skill set i.e. mechanical, construction, manufacturing or similar.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to conduct system checks and input information into systems.
- Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (desirable but willingness to obtain through NEW is essential).
- Driver’s licence (required) and medium rigid truck licence (desirable).
