North East Water is offering an opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to become an Independent Aboriginal Delegate of the North East Water Board.
The one-year, part-time role would enable the successful applicant to develop the skills and experience to be a candidate for a full directorship within the water sector. During the period of the role, there would also be the opportunity to provide insight into matters relating to urban water management and its connection to the First Nations communities.
The role will provide the opportunity to develop skills in the areas of strategic planning, managing risk, governance and oversight of the corporations operations.
Previous board experience is not a requirement, and people of all ages are encouraged to apply. This development opportunity will come with the appropriate support, development training, and mentorship in line with the successful applicant’s experience. The role is remunerated.
The role runs from July 2026 until June 2027, with a significant induction offered.
