Heavy rain causes sewage spills in Wangaratta

North East Water is managing several sewage spills in Wangaratta following the recent heavy rain.
The spills occurred at Vincent Road, Rattray Avenue, and Swan and Bronmar Streets, with wastewater entering the nearby One Mile Creek.
Water sampling and monitoring of creek will continue over the next few days to understand the impact to the waterway.
Signage has been erected in the area and as a precaution we are advising people to avoid visiting the area until further notice.
The Environment Protection Authority has been notified of the spill.
