Hardship Policy and Payment Assistance

North East Water is committed to ongoing dialogue with the Energy and Water Ombudsman Victoria (EWOV) and financial counsellors to improve the company's understanding of the complex issues surrounding financial hardship.

The Commonwealth Government is responsible for ensuring individuals and families in Australia have an adequate level of income by providing pensions, benefits and allowances to eligible people.

State and Territory Governments, through the Department of Human Services, assist low-income people by providing concessions on the cost of essential services.

You may qualify for a Utility Relief Grant to cover your water account. The grants are available to holders of a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card. For more details click here.

We can also assist by starting a payment arrangement that will fit your budget. For more details click here.

North East Water can arrange for you to visit a financial counsellor who can assess your overall financial situation and give you guidance on how best to manage your current financial difficulties.

Please contact us or phone 1300 361 633 for further information.
