North East Water's customers will now be able to see their water usage patterns at a glance.
The Corporation has begun sending out its new-look accounts this month, which contain a graph detailing individual customers' average daily water consumption.
The graph, which shows usage for the current quarter along with the previous four quarters, is part of a Victoria-wide Government program to encourage water conservation.
North East Water's Executive Manager Business Services, John Morris, said the graph enabled customers to compare each quarter with the previous quarter, as well as with the corresponding quarter from the year before.
"Naturally you're going to see fluctuations in usage from season to season, but the fact that you can compare, for example, this year's summer quarter with last year's summer quarter will give customers an indication of how much their usage has increased or decreased," he said.
"We see this as another tool to encourage people to save water, especially as we start heading into what is expected to be another dry spring and summer.
"It will also enable customers to better understand how their usage translates to how much they pay, particularly as our billing emphasis shifts towards volumetric charging."
