North East Water will be upgrading water mains in Bright's shopping precinct over the coming months.
The work will take place on Gavan Street between Anderson and Camp Streets starting mid July 2019, for a period of approximately 12 weeks.
The existing water main is approximately 70 years old and this project will significantly reduce the likelihood of breaks and unplanned interruptions to the water supply.
North East Water acknowledges this work will be disruptive to businesses along Gavan Street and have chosen a period where the disruption will hopefully be minimised. During the construction process, traffic management will be in place along Gavan Street with ongoing changes to parking and access to footpaths. There will also be some disruption to the water supply at certain stages of the upgrade. North East Water will work with property owners to ensure these supply interruptions occur at times that are of least inconvenience.
For more information on the project, please contact Project Manager Graham Bowers on 1300361 622.
Work will commence mid to late July 2019.
North East Water is currently meeting with property owners to discuss the project and likely impacts including traffic restrictions and water supply interruptions.
