Customer & Community Advisory Group

We're looking for people who reflect the diversity of our region to help guide the future of our services.

Help us build the future of our services

North East Water is looking to grow its Customer and Community Advisory Group membership!

The group will help us improve our customer experience and will also provide valuable insights for our upcoming Price Submission in 2026.

We're looking for people who live in our service region and represent its diverse population. This includes:

  • residential and commercial customers
  • rural residents
  • pensioners
  • people with lived experience of disability 
  • First Nations people
  • people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • people from different socioeconomic backgrounds
  • people from the LGBTIQ+ community
  • representatives from organisations supporting low-income households and environmental causes.

Members will bring their specialised knowledge and community perspectives to the table. Their focus will be on addressing community issues rather than personal concerns.

How it works

Advisory group members give feedback, share ideas for solutions and advocate for the interests of their community.

They participate in four meetings per year, from now until July 2026, in the lead up to our next price submission period.

Each meeting will be catered. Members will be paid a sitting fee and travel costs will be reimbursed to ensure there's an opportunity for people from across our region to participate.

What topics does the group cover?

The group provides feedback on common topics including:

  • customer issues
  • our services and prices
  • major projects
  • customer experience and support
  • environment, climate change and sustainability
  • policies and strategies

Commitment required

Members must commit to attending four meetings a year for our next price submission period - from now till July 2026. Each meeting will run for around 2 hours and might include some preparation work.

How members are selected

We'll select members with a goal of reflecting our region's diverse community.

First Nations people, people with lived experience of disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, , pensioners, people from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and people within the LGBTIQA+ community are encouraged to apply.
