About the role

The successful applicant will be part of a team that plans for the Corporation's infrastructure and operational needs to meet medium to long term business requirements. This is underpinned through the:

  • development and maintenance of infrastructure plans to address system capacity needs, growth planning and to position the Corporation to respond to and influence regional development opportunities;
  • development of water and wastewater treatment, reuse and recycling strategic development and optimisation plans; and
  • provision of project management, administration and support for the development of strategic business direction and special projects including research and evaluation of traditional and non-traditional engineering solutions in the delivery of our services and new business opportunities.

The incumbent will have a particular focus in contributing technical advice and relation to supporting the Corporation's asset management objectives consistent with North East Water's Statement of Obligation.

Key selection criteria

To be in consideration for this position please address in your application how you meet the following key selection criteria:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development, maintenance of key planning matters including capacity and infrastructure planning, and water and wastewater treatment reuse and recycling strategic plans.
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide technical support for investigations, asset design, development and implementation as required.
  3. Hold a degree in engineering or a related profession, as well as a minimum of two years industry experience that is relevant to the position requirements and outcomes.
  4. Ability to lead by example and demonstrate good communication skills.
  5. Ability to manage own time, set priorities, plan and organise own work to achieve specific and set objectives in the most efficient way possible.
  6. Experience using Inforworks WS or similar modelling software.

Skills

Degree in engineering or related profession, as well as experience in in engineering design or project management.
