About the role

The Operations Planning Officer's will be part of the Operational Control and Maintenance team and will support the North East Water's proactive risk based approach to asset management. You will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services, supervision of service level contracts, and developing, implementing and scheduling planned maintenance activities for facilities, systems and assets maintenance. You will also be required to provide supervision of maintenance activities to ensure timely outcomes and effective results as well as facilitating the capture and maintenance of data and information in the North East Water’s Asset Management Information System

Key selection criteria

To be in consideration for this position please address in your application how you meet the following key selection criteria:

  • Experience in the development and implementation of maintenance plans;
  • Experience in supervision of service contracts;
  • Sound knowledge of operation asset maintenance requirements;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment to achieve outcomes; and
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, with demonstrated experience capturing and maintaining data within asset management software systems.


Must have substantial experience in asset management and maintenance planning, along with experience in Service Level Contract Management, Procurement and Facilities management.

A qualification in Asset Maintenance or equivalent is advantageous, but not a necessity.
