Salary
  • $65,028 to $75,160 plus 11.5% superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
  • This role attracts additional remuneration through allowances and participation in an on-call roster.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Candidates must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a foreign national with authorisation to work in Australia
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including a police check and/or pre-employment medical and functional testing where applicable.

 

About the role

North East Water provides water and sewage services to over 110,000 people across 39 towns throughout north east Victoria. The Water Treatment Operator consistently executes water treatment tasks, ensuring smooth and efficient operations while minimising disruptions and upholding system integrity to deliver safe drinking water. This role reports directly to our Lead Coordinator of Water Treatment and works closely with each of the Senior Operations and Systems Officers, Water Treatment Coordinators and Treatment Technicians.


This is a ‘Mobile’ role that will require travel across the North East region including from Yarrawonga to Wodonga down to Wangaratta and Myrtleford and across to Corryong. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to get out and about in the beautiful north east region and gain exposure across all of our 21 water treatment plants. You will have access to a diverse range of learning opportunities, allowing you to expand your knowledge and skills in the field of water treatment. 


This role is a full-time ongoing opportunity, including a monthly RDO and flexible work options. The general hours of work are between 7am and 4:30pm and once deemed competent, you will be required to participate in a seven-day on call roster every 3-4 weeks which operates from a Tuesday until the following Tuesday. As this is a ‘mobile’ role, your base of work will be negotiated in line with your location.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience as a self-motivated individual with a teamwork focus and excellent communication skills.
  2. Demonstrated ability to act within an Occupational Health and Safety mindset.
  3. Ability to problem solve and use critical thinking to solve practical challenges.
  4. Certificate III in Water Treatment or equivalent is required.
