Taste and odour issue in Yackandandah

We have investigated reports of a taste and odour issue in Yackandandah’s drinking water supply.
Our team believes the cause is a naturally occurring compound such as MIB (Methylisoborneol) or Geosmin. These compounds are not harmful and water remains safe to drink — however, they can affect how it smells and tastes.
To address the issue, we’ve switched the town’s raw water source. If this proves effective, customers should notice an improvement over the coming days as the new supply makes its way through the system.
