Recycled water spill at Corryong
29 July 2021
Treated recycled water has spilled from a lagoon at the North East Water sewage treatment plant in Corryong on Wednesday 29 July 2021.
Mechanical failure is blamed for the spill where 100 kL of Class C treated water entered the nearby Cemetery Creek.
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has been notified of the spill along with neighbouring properties.
North East Water’s environment team has collected water samples from the creek for analysis and will determine if the treated water has had any impact.
