Recycled water spill in Wodonga
18 March 2020
North East Water staff have repaired a broken recycled water main near the Wodonga golf course.
It is estimated 500 kilolitres of Class B recycled water flowed into a nearby storm water drain and creek following a pipe burst on Monday 16 March 2020.
Class B treated recycled water is used at the Wodonga Golf Course for irrigation.
Executive Operations, John Day, said the Environment Protection Authority has been notified of the spill.
"The affected main has been repaired and we have placed signage in the nearby area", Mr Day said.
“We are advising people to avoid contact with stormwater around Jardine Street for several days.”
