North East Water is investing in a number of large scale growth related infrastructure projects in north-east Victoria and is encouraging local companies to register with the Victorian Government Construction Supplier Register.
The Construction Supplier Register is a prequalification scheme for construction contractors and consultants interested in working with Victorian Government departments and agencies.
The scheme gives suppliers access to streamlined tender processes and supplier assessments, to determine their eligibility for construction works and services.
With only a small number of north-east Victorian companies currently prequalified through the scheme, local suppliers are being reminded to register to take advantage of this opportunity.
A range of criteria are assessed in order to prequalify for work including an OH&S capability, industrial relations management, financial viability and experience.
Prequalification does not automatically guarantee suppliers will be chosen for projects – but businesses can be selected from the register to compete for contracts, with the final outcome determined through a rigorous value-for-money assessment.
Contractors and consultants can apply here for prequalification.
