Art exhibition to showcase local Aboriginal art
29 OCTOBER 2018
Local Aboriginal art will be on display at North East Water’s regional headquarters in Wodonga this week.
The water corporation has partnered with Murray Arts and burraja gallery, to show the work of six Aboriginal artists from across the North East and Border area.
Executive Communications and Engagement, Ann Telford, said it’s a celebration of local artists and follows the success of last year’s inaugural event.
“It’s another opportunity to partner with our local Aboriginal communities”, Ms Telford said.
“We are aiming for a deeper connection with Traditional Owners to increase our knowledge and understanding of their culture, traditions and life experiences.
“The quality and diversity of the work demonstrates the amazing talent of local artists and their relationship to the region.”
Ms Telford added, “We will again be selecting a piece which will be put on permanent display at our regional headquarters in Wodonga.”
“We’re hoping that the community will take this unique opportunity to view the collection and appreciate the beautiful work on display as well as the story behind each piece.”
The exhibition is open at North East Water’s regional headquarters on Thomas Mitchell Drive in Wodonga between 10am and 3pm from 30 October to 2 November 2018.
