Discoloured water in Tallangatta
22 December 2020
North East Water customers in Tallangatta may notice a slight discolouration and a possible metallic taste to their water supply over coming days.
The Corporation is working to remove a naturally occurring compound called manganese from the town water system.
This substance can result in making the water appear discoloured or dirty when customers turn on their taps. Manganese can also react with some laundry detergents and cause staining.
We want to assure people that the water meets all Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and is safe to drink.
This issue will clear over the next few days and we apologise for any inconvenience.
