Water planning group seeks input

09 Nov 2011

North East Water’s Water Plan 3 Reference Group recently met in Wodonga, discussing key topics such as the future reliability of water supplies and the other drivers of investment in water infrastructure.

The Reference Group provides feedback on issues including future capital projects, long-term reliability of supply, guaranteed service levels and customer tariff design.

The group welcomes feedback and input from the broader community.  Contact details of members are available by clicking here.

Reference Group member Neil Ward from Chiltern attended the recent meeting.

“The group’s involvement is an opportunity for members of the community to provide feedback and insight into the strategies that shape how North East Water services to the region’s communities,” he said.

“There is much work to be done however the community should have confidence that the Reference Group is open and transparent and will welcome community interaction and communication.”

Chair of the Water Plan 3 Reference Group, Board Deputy Chair Frank Burfitt said the Reference Group provided a great opportunity for the community to have a say in the future of water services in their region.

“For example, at the last meeting the group suggested North East Water should explore payment options to smooth out the fluctuations between summer and winter accounts. This type of feedback is very valuable to improving our services,” he said.

The group will conduct regular half day meetings on an ongoing basis, and to receive updates of meetings, SMS your details to 0407 784 687 or email nerwa@nerwa.vic.gov.au

The group comprises members from around the region, representing the geographical, industrial and community aspects of the North East Water service area.
