Community Engagement

North East Water is committed to ensuring our customers and communities and informed and involved in our wastewater and water services and planning.  Through our Community Engagement program we aim to develop a shared understanding of community needs and expectations. 


 
North East Water has an extensive engagement program which enables us to consult our customers and communities regarding water and wastewater services and planinng. Our Community Engagement Policy outlines our strong commitment to ensuring our communities are informed and involved in the work we undertake.
North East Water and Moira Shire Council have been working to identify potential solutions to wastewater management in Tungamah. Through the Victorian State Government’s Country Towns Water Supply & Sewerage Program North East Water has undertaken a process to identify potential improvements to wastewater services in the township.
Site preparation works for the new Myrtleford Clearwater storage commenced in early August 2009. This storage is the first stage of the Water Treatment Plant Upgrade approved by the Board of North East Water in late 2008. Works on the new direct filtration water treatment plant are expected to commence before the end of 2009.
North East Water is pleased to launch its Customer Feedback Register. We are seeking interested community members to join this register and take part in regular online surveys which will assist us with our strategic development and service planning in the wider community.
North East Water is currently working to implement a new water supply in Eskdale. In partnership with Towong Shire Council and the local community, the Corporation will install a new Water Treatment Plant, Clearwater storage and reticulation network, which is due for completion in late 2009.
